Here we go!
Where did the summer go? It feels like only yesterday we were packing up and heading home. Classes start a week from today!
Looking to get a ride to campus? RPI Parking and Transportation has free shuttles to campus if you register for them before the 26th. From their website:
Start of semester shuttle to RPI
The Parking and Transportation Department will be offering transportation through a registration process from the Albany International Airport, Rensselaer Rail Station, and Greyhound Bus Station to campus. To arrange transportation please contact the Parking and Transportation Department weekedays at 518-276-6616 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Return trips will occur on Sunday, August 29th. Be advised that there are select timeframes to choose from and the last day to arrange transportation will be Thursday, August 26th at 3:30 p.m. All requests after this date are subject to availability. Passengers are encouraged to pack lightly as space on the shuttle bus is limited.
We look forward to seeing you all back on campus! And if you’re an incoming freshman, Welcome to RPI!

Word on the street is that those pesky parking meters along Sage and 15th are now only required between 8am-5pm M-F, with a new 4-hour maximum. They are being reprogrammed, and are having their signage changed to quell the confusion.
See! Your voice DOES matter!

This is a disgraceful display of incompetent work that directly affects the student body. Tell us what you think about this! (more photos below)

Classes begin next Monday, and you’re bound to be thinking about returning to campus.
Here’s some transportation info you may find helpful:
- Campus dorms open tomorrow (Friday Dec 9th) at noon.
- The CDTA Bus #86 resumes normal operations on Sunday.
- The Red Hawk Shuttle resumes normal service on Mon at 7 am, just in time to get you to that crack of dawn 8am class.
- If you have your car in a lot that you don’t have a permit for, be sure to remove it by 8am on Mon because that’s when normal campus parking rules go back into effect.
- If you are coming back to RPI via the Albany International Airport, Amtrak Train Station or Greyhound Bus Terminal there is a free shuttle available to get you to campus. Just call the Department of Parking & Transportation Services at 518-276-6616 or e-mail parking@rpi.edu to find out more.
