No more Red Hawks, no more RPI Bullet, just the RPI Engineers with the logo above. This word was leaked to us by a Student Senator who received the information from Kevin Beattie, the Associate Athletic Director, who mentioned it on a tour of the East Campus Athletic Village last Friday.
We’re just fine with that. It was pretty strange to have two mascots, anyway.
Freshman Football Fun!
If you, like me, had the pleasure of walking into commons last week to see the Freshman members of the Varsity Football team singing, you may have been pretty surprised. It was pretty entertaining, because they all introduced themselves (ending with “And I’m proud to be an engineer, TOOT TOOT!), and then sang songs such as Respect, Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, Stand By Me, I Will Survive, I Want It That Way, Oh What a Night, Romeo and Juliet, and Afternoon Delight. I’ve never seen such huge guys hit such high notes.
