Nondorf Makes a Name for Himself Even After Leaving RPI
Jim Nondorf, who left RPI last spring to work for the University of Chicago (after Uprise at Five, which was partially directed toward his actions), has made a name for himself by sending the following sample essay out to thousands of high school seniors. It’s quoted from the New York Times article, which is a worthwhile read.
Dear University of Chicago, It fills me up with that gooey sap you feel late at night when I think about things that are really special to me about you, the essay began. Tell me, was I just one in a line of many? Was I just another supple applicant to you, looking for a place to live, looking for someone to teach me the ways of the world?
He has “asked to pass on a sincere apology if it did not hit the mark.” They were aiming for creativity, but they got sexually provocative language. Good work. At least it didn’t bear RPI’s name!
