Hockey Line Countdown Begins

September 1st, 2009

You can kind of see the sign!

Today, the RPI Hockey Line countdown begun.  The Hockey Line is an annual tradition, sponsored by the Student Senate and Student Union, which began in 1973, according to the library’s website.  As students camp out for the next two weeks (tickets go on sale on September 15th at 11:30 PM), they will be graced with the presence of a brand-new LED countdown which counts the days, hours, minutes, seconds, and even hundredths of seconds until the first tickets will be sold.  The sign was handmade by the Web Technologies Group of the Student Senate.

Kudos, webtech.  This RPI tradition is one of the ones near to our hearts.  Let’s keep it alive and fun!

Random act of kindness

February 20th, 2009

from: http://www.rpiathletics.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2097&path=hockey

Hey, so let’s say that you were up for some award. Hypothetically speaking. And other people could help you get it,  just by going to a website and clicking twice or by sending a simple text. Wouldn’t you want people to do that?

Well, this is the position that RPI Men’s Hockey goalie Mathais Lange finds himself in. He is a contender vying for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award which recognizes NCAA athletes who have exceptional character,  excel in the classroom and the community,  and bring a sense of competition to the sport.

Get yourself over to the site (you can vote only once a day) and vote for Mathais Lange for Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award. You can also vote by texting HOC6 to 839863.
