As the semester winds down, and your workload gears up, we just wanted to wish you good luck on your finals! Congrats on making it through another semester of classes, and now you’re almost done. You might need a few days to cram brush up on your class material, so lucky for you, RPI has 2 “Study-Review days” for you on Monday and Tuesday (the 14th and 15th). Make good use of them, as they can be the difference between passing or failing Diff EQ.
Want to know when and where your finals are? Click here for the schedule (pdf).
The last of you have finished your finals, and have presumably headed home (or not.) Maybe you’re doing research here, or are a graduate student who has decided to take up knitting during your free time. Regardless, we just wanted to wish you a happy summer. Enjoy the beauty that Troy has to offer during this season. Enjoy the farmers market, and continue to visit shops during Troy Night Out. If you’re home, head to the beach and enjoy kicking back with few under the sun. Congratulations for a semester well done! Hopefully your GPA is above a 1.0 still, and just take comfort in the fact that you will soon be able to stop compulsively checking SIS for your grades. We’ll still be keeping tabs on things, so don’t forget about us (or the ‘tute) this summer. Those revisions we talked about are still on the way, we haven’t forgotten. Congratulations to the Class of 2009 as well. You guys have been great.
Love,
The Editors of RPInsider
P.S. Here’s a fun one from the archives to help you kick off your summer:
Well, classes are officially over. Congratulations! You’ve made it this far and now (for most of you) there is just a little thing called “finals” standing in your way of that lazy idyllic summer (or real-person job at GE). So you know that your finals will be hard, and you wish that you had some way to help you study more. Well at RPI, we’ve got a different culture from some of those other tech schools. We aren’t out to get each other. We won’t sabotage our friends in order to get ahead. The culture where everyone is willing to help each other out is alive and well.
So let’s use our best resources (each other) to the fullest potential. Download all of your LMS files, collect all of your back tests, and take your answers from that ridiculous homework and post them on RPIStudyGroup.com. We’ve had an ad on the site for a while now (it’s that blue thing on top), and really value what they bring to the community. We all help each other out during this stressful time of year, and now that capability is online. Go here to login or create an account if you have not already done so, and then start uploading (and downloading). Take a look around while you’re there, they have some cool features like textbooks for sale by owner, as well as a classifieds section. We hope you find the site as valuable as we have.
EMPAC will be open until 10pm as a study space (with free coffee!) If you’re looking for another reason to be in EMPAC for free, this might be the perfect excuse.
Saturday 5/2 & Sunday 5/3 – Alumni House
The Heffner Alumni House is open each day from 7am to 3am the next day as a study location. Hosted by the student group Red & White, the building be outfitted with tables in the main room, lounge-style rooms with couches, as well as quiet work rooms and reservable conference rooms available to groups. ALAC will be offering help sessions too!
