Deserve an A?
What do you think it takes to deserve an A? A New York Times Article says that most students think that if they put in their best effort, that they should get the best grade. Also,
A recent study by researchers at the University of California, Irvine, found that a third of students surveyed said that they expected B’s just for attending lectures, and 40 percent said they deserved a B for completing the required reading.
How’s it different at RPI? Since most of our grades are determined by exams, which aren’t subjectively graded, I wonder how a similar survey would play out. I have heard of people arguing grades over an exam, but I have never heard of someone arguing their exam grade because they studied hard.
