Hearing on ‘Minidorms’ Tonight
February 10th, 2009
Tonight at 6pm in the City Council chambers in Troy’s City Hall (1 Monument Square), there will be a hearing on a proposal to regulate ‘minidorms’ in Troy. If you live off campus, you might want to attend and speak up. It is unclear if this applies to fraternities and sororities, as it depends if they are defined as residential. But this idea of a grouper law in Troy would certainly have social, economic, and political effects for people living off campus, especially with on-campus housing policy changing. As a note, other cities have passed laws that set a limit of 3 non-related people in one apartment.
Head on downtown to voice your thoughts!
