Vampire Weekend (This post has nothing to do with them)

Vampire Weekend (This post has nothing to do with them)

It’s that time of the week! Where you are like: man, I’ve been working so hard this whole week, I don’t have any plans for this weekend! Oh wait! The Superbowl! So some other things to do:

Friday 1/30

Troy Night Out & Afterparty
It’s the first TNO since October that we’ve been in Troy for, so be sure to venture down the hill and check out all that the Collar City has to offer. If you don’t want to bother driving or walking, take the free shuttle sponsored by the Student Senate.  The Afterparty starts at midnight at Rev Hall.

Get ‘em!
Tickets go on sale today for the Believers Never Die tour.

Do you know your ABC’s?
Who’s Bad – The Ultimate Michael Jackson Tribute Band is playing at Rev Hall tonight at 8.

So you think you can strum?
The Class of 2011 is sponsoring a Guitar Hero tournament in Mothers at 8pm tonight. Proceeds go to the Boys and Girls Club of Troy, and tournament winners get tickets to the Fall Out Boy show.

Music makes me lose control
Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist is playing tonight in 308. You know the drill: $2.50 at 7, 9:30 and midnight.

Maybe you’ll see the Puckman!
The Women’s Hockey team tries to beat Dartmouth tonight at 7 up at the Field House.

Ski/Board
The Ski and Snowboard club’s Friday Night Program continues. Visit the club’s website for more information.

Like Formals?
“CASA is hosting its 2nd annual Chinese New Year Formal! Come join CASA and members in celebrating the New Year with an 8 course banquet, music, and fun!”

Saturday 1/31

CHOWDA!
If you like chowder as much as our Skidmore counterparts, head up to Saratoga and explore this and other Winterfest activities.

Maybe you’ll see the Puckman this time too!
The Women’s Hockey team plays Harvard Sat. afternoon at 4 up at the Field House.

Get ready for the big game!
Does that need a comment? Get pumped!

Sunday 2/1

Watch the big game!
If your TV won’t cut it, head over to a friend’s place, and if you don’t have any friends with a worthy enough TV (or just want to watch it on a REDICULUS sized screen), Proctors up in Schenectady is hosting a Superbowl party with no cover charge. Kickoff is at 6pm on NBC.

Go snowshoeing!?
EMS and the Capital District Habitat for Humanity are sponsoring a snowshoeing fundraiser. More details here.

Watch other stuff!
Head over to your favorite theater to watch a movie. We’ve been meaning to check out Frost/Nixon, Slumdog Millionaire and Grand Torino ourselves. Will someone please knock that stupid mall cop movie from the top of the box office?

Is there something we forgot? Let us know in the comments!
