Another round of cutbacks…

RPInsider has received news that the new Resident Directors for the 2009-2010 academic year will be compensated with $5,000 toward room and board. This had been the speculation until now. This is down from free room and board (which typically runs about $10,000).

I have to say that I am disappointed with this move by the administration, and I hope that they will find another way to show the Residence Life Staff how much they do care. If there’s one staff group on campus that directly affects students, it’s the Residence Life Staff.

There’s been talk on campus about a public meeting on Wednesday to discuss this and other things with Dr. Eddie Knowles (VP for Student Life). More info to come on that when we find out!
