The blog that cried wolf
September 8th, 2010

We couldn't find one that says rennovate.
Hi there! It’s us again. So we read the Poly…. They had some good things to say about the value of electronic media on this campus. Thing is, we’re done. So if you guys want to keep it going, we need your help to figure out how.
Here’s your only stipulation: the two of us must remain anonymoose. (We figured since the Poly doesn’t use spell check, we don’t have to, either.)
Leave your ideas in in the comments.
Open up applications to current RPI students to take your place, and communicate with your successor(s) via the Web or through an intermediary who agrees to protect everyone’s identity and anonymity. I’m sure there are current students willing to blog at this site. If you have other people moderating the ACB or posting on it frequently, it may be worthwhile to ask them if they’d like to participate.
RPInsider was an extremely valuable resource to former and current RPI students AND their financially strapped parents, too. It has been great to read what actually goes on at RPI, not just the PR fiction put forth by the SAJ Administration.
Be very proud of what you accomplished. I hope you both have secured good jobs now that your RPI student years have come to a close (if that is actually the case).
Congrats on your initiative and good luck for the future !!
Thank You…….
I’m sure there’s a way you can let everybody make wordpress posts…
Actually, I know there is. You can make posts by email. So set up a gmail account somewhere, link it to wordpress, and throw the password around. Anybody who wants to sign into gmail and write a post for RPInsider can. You guys will only need to admin–or find somebody else to admin.
I’m the one who wrote that headline and, well, shit.
That said, it’s good to see people actually read our Staff Editorials.
Seriously, guys, this website has ALWAYS been an important resource for campus news, your faster and more levelheaded than S&F or the Poly, I have always enjoyed your articles… don’t go!

Yea, there would be plenty of people willing to blog here (myself included). Open up some signups and I’m sure people will be clamoring to post. This was a very enjoyable site to read (heck, even the Times Union takes some news from here…) and people would love to see it continue.
I’m heartbroken that the efforts to “pass on the reins” seems to have stalled, and hasn’t been touched since last year.
Are there any thoughts towards revival, or should I just let dead dogs lie?
@JC
If someone wants to take it on, just send us an email as to why you want to do it!
