Hunt Wins Appeal; RNE Ordered to Release Results

April 30th, 2010

The J-Board has ruled that RNE must release the results of the April 22 Elections. Just a note: this decision may be appealed to the Review Board, made up of 2 faculty members, 1 administrator, and two students to be appointed by the Grand Marshal, subject to the approval of the Student Senate.

The question is: will RNE release the results tonight, as ordered by the Judicial Board, or will they wait for a pending Review Board case? Will Zwack have to appoint two students to the review board? Will someone else appoint two students? Will it be appealed at all? We don’t know! Do you?

The Review Board can choose not to hear it, and they probably won’t. They won’t challenge the opinion of the Judicial Board.

Your analysis of this decision is poor. What did you do, report on what you found on facebook?

We actually didn’t do any analysis on this one. In an effort to get the decision up quickly, we just posed a few questions that we knew would be important. Thanks for reading, though!

@You: How can make any judgement on how the review board will act. You dont know who the board consists of and the Review Board’s bylaws do not provide any guidance on how to determine whether a case should be heard. Also it is the review boards sole purpose to review cases of its appellate courts with the student judicial board being one of those.
