Weekend Sports Roundup: Celebration Edition

As the society-types were celebration the 10th anniversary of the Rensselaer Plan, those who were not invited were undoubtedly attending sporting events. Hockey fans at home had a rough weekend.
Men’s hockey lost 1-2 to Cornell during Whiteout on Friday [Rpiathletics][Record][TU], and lost again 3-5 to Colgate on Saturday [Rpiathletics][Record][TU].
Women’s hockey defeated Union 2-0 on Saturday [Rpiathletics] in Schenectady, and then again 5-0 in the Houston Field House [Rpiathletics].
Men’s swimming placed 2nd out of 7 in the Liberty League Championships [Rpiathletics]. The women placed 3rd out of 8 [Rpiathletics].
Women’s basketball lost to Amherst College 36-74 [Rpiathletics]. They also lost to Trinity College, 69-76 [Rpiathletics].
Men’s basketball dominated Albany College of Pharmacy 108-51 on Saturday night [Rpiathletics]. They went on to defeat MCLA 72-66 on Sunday [Rpiathletics].

It was strange that during the Joshua Bell concert and the skit the actors said that we would crush Cornell and Colgate this weekend after already losing to them. It was as if they didn’t actually care.
