Wondering why the VCC “Costruction” is taking so long?

These photos (more after the jump) were sent to us by Andrew today.  According to him, they ran into a little bad luck, and had to call these guys…

What you see is the remains of an underground fuel oil storage tank which has been cut in half. Sources have informed me that this oil tank dates back to before RPI owned this land, and at one time contained 35,000 gallons of #6 fuel oil. The disused tank was filled with sand to prevent the formation of a sinkhole. This sand had to be removed for decontamination, since it was mixed with the remaining oil in the tank.

    There used to be a boiler at this location right behind Lally. It was part of the RPI property. You can see the building and the smokestack in this photo.
