Weekend Sports Roundup: Family Weekend Edition
This weekend was a mixed bag for RPI Sports. The most popular teams (football and men’s hockey) fared very well, but the other teams had a rough weekend.
Men’s hockey chalked up two wins, the first against Sacred Heart (4-3 in overtime) and the second over American International (3-2).
Football beat St. Lawrence University in a slim 10-7 victory after a rainy game.
Women’s ice hockey lost to Syracuse (2-3) Friday afternoon and (3-4) Saturday afternoon.
Men’s Cross Country came in 4th out of 10 at the NYSCTC (New York State Collegiate Track Conference) Championships in Rochester. The women’s team fared even better, coming in second place.
Men’s and women’s swimming bested Roger Williams University 157-142 (men) and 157-125 (women) 0n Saturday.
Men’s soccer tied with Clarkson 0-0 in Potsdam Saturday, while the women lost to them 0-1 at home. The men went on to beat Saint Lawrence 2-1 on Sunday, while the women lost 0-4.
Women’s field hockey lost to Saint Lawrence 2-4 at home on Saturday afternoon and to Hamilton College 2-3 on Sunday.
